Welcome to the PhD course “Apparatus: Framing” - a one-week writing workshop from 8 - 12 May 2023

The course ‘Apparatus: Framing’ serves to support the final stages of composition in a PhD thesis, whether it is by compilation or written as a monograph. The workshop aims to improve the robustness of the ‘kappa’ that contains your thesis, or of the key chapter that introduces it. In 2023 this is a voluntary workshop open to all candidates in year 3 and above. Full participation is rewarded with 2 ECTS. 

As notified in the start of the semester, in order to subscribe to the course, you must have a draft of an introduction chapter or of the ‘kappa’ ready to circulate by 1st May 2023. 

The deadline for subscribing to the course is Monday 17. April. We will send out a reminder close to the deadline. You subscribe to the course by answering this e-mail.

Monday 10.00 - 16.00: Presentation of all chapters

Tuesday 10.00 – 16.00: Group critique and individual work

Wednesday 10.00 - 12.00: Group critique of first-years PhD Projects and individual work

Thursday: Individual work

Friday: Final Presentations of revised chapters (including supervisors)
